I am captivated by these playful, elliptical lyrics, which investigate the well-worn themes of identity and immigration with brilliant, oblique juxtapositions and fresh insight. Buttressed by smart postmodern critique, they nonetheless have the remarkable capacity to evoke crystal-clear slices of a real life: family, friends, and especially lovers are painted with a quick-witted and "lambent" brush. Brava! to Sarah Gambito for this very accomplished second book.

In Delivered, Sarah Gambito continues her strong-willed side-splitting strike against the notion that a poet need pillow-smother the complexities of identity. These poems, like "cellophane bags of jewelry," are both beautiful and indecorous; more importantly, they are memorable. I marvel at and applaud this feisty and increasingly important writer.
